While the band works with the transition between Drew Watson and long time friend / engineer Lara Soulio, a stronger FNAS works its slow build and burn with newfound patience, sinuousness and ferocity.
It is tricky to distill what has made FNAS so compelling to so many critics and fans over their almost decade-long history. More than ever, the players keep their heads down, creating wonderful multi-movement instrumental works, overflowing with attention to tone and timbre.
