Within a small Sydney bedroom, beautiful song-smithery glistens through the home recordings of Adam R. Lees. The singer / guitarist of the now finished Staying At Home began the project shortly before the bands split in late 2005, recording and playing the rare show under the Oh Messy Life title.

In April 2006, a collection of early demo recordings produced in the previous year were released. This record, 1+1–1=1, was the first Hobbledehoy release. In amongst some light touring, The Literature EP was then created and made available in November 2006 – the second release for both Oh Messy Life and Hobbledehoy. Since then, Adam has musically focused almost solely on his punk rock 3-piece project Lungs.
